Radio Dash Cubby Insert

Overview

Designing a 3D-printed cubby insert to cleanly mount a compact radio head unit while keeping wiring tidy behind the dash. The goal is a drop-in piece that matches the surrounding trim and survives summer heat.

Current status

First prototype printed in PETG. Fitment is close; vent clearance needs an additional 2mm relief. Testing different infill patterns to balance rigidity with print time.

Notes / Next steps

  • Adjust rear cable channel depth for easier radio removal.
  • Test matte black ASA for better UV resistance.
  • Add small mounting bosses for a wire loom clip.

Files

File downloads will be added after the next round of test prints.
